I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and took interest in music at an early age. After viewing Led Zeppelin's concert movie “The Song Remains The Same” at age 11, I walked out of the movie theater with the resolve to play guitar. It was my grandfather that suggested that I first learn the violin to gain a more well rounded appreciation of and education in music. After five years of playing in school orchestras and the Arkansas Youth Symphony, I decided it was time to dedicate myself to playing guitar. I played in several garage bands before starting to play paying gigs with acts like “The Emulsions” and “Zero Gravity”.

Bad band politics and the lure of a lucrative, full-time position working with computers led me to a playing guitar as an after-hours hobby with several small groups in bars and folk clubs around town until 2001, when I moved to Memphis to work at St. Jude. Not long after working there, SEHT was formed for a one-time performance that has turned into several years of performing various gigs around town to benefit the children of St. Jude.
