The Mighty Electric St. Jude Band was selected to compete in the 2009 Fortune Magazine/Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Battle of the Corporate Bands.

36 corporate bands from across the United States submitted three-song entry demos - and 16 bands were invited to the first round - regional competitions in Nashville or Los Angeles.

The St. Jude Band will take the stage in Nashville on July 18 - in a battle of rock supremacy against groups made up of employees from the following companies:

• Chevron
• Gaylord Opryland
• The Ladders
• Johnson & Johnson
• Healthways
• Calzone
• Enernoc

The top three bands from Nashville will meet the top three from Los Angeles and one band from Europe in the Battle of the Corporate Bands final at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH. The gala event is a fundraiser for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, which supports music education programs in public schools.

In addition to being crowned the 2009 Battle of the Band Champion, the winner will be invited to attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2010 Induction Ceremony.
